Anyone know details about performances done for episode 3 and 4 on Phenomenon? There's no details about it yet on this page. Eclipsed (talk) 03:07, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Should we put something about the stop sign bending on the spoon bending page? like... In episode 4 of the American tv-show [Phenomenon], November 14, 2007, [Guy Bavli] bent a [stop sign] before a live audience. According to Uri Geller, member of the judge, his “best performance yet”. This performance won Bavli his wildcard after receiving a shared smallest amount of votes. Eclipsed (talk) 19:12, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Guy also did infomercials for Princes kitchen appliances in Holland, and Verde Fresh Box. Haven't found a good reference yet. Eclipsed (talk) 19:23, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Guy also did a show/shows with Banachek in Vegas, with Jum Karol / M3. Eclipsed (talk) 19:28, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Added the information that Guy has a daughter who's also into mentalism. Haengbokhada (talk) 21:05, 15 October 2010 (UTC+8)

Magic Collaboration of the Week

I nominated this page as the Wikipedia:Magic Collaboration of the Week. If you agree, please add your vote to the nomination. The Magic collab project seems a bit lethargic with little activity in past few years. Maybe we can revive it... Eclipsed (talk) 09:17, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Revive Guy Bavli's Magic collaboration project need more votes. Graceconcepcionr (talk) 07:27, 23 October 2010 (UTC+8)

Videos

I Think it's possible to put some videos of Guy at Wikimedia commons.Haengbokhada (talk) 13:32, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

If they are a suitable free license, then yes.     Eclipsed   (t)     21:11, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

COI

Are the three participants here paid editors, and do you work with each other? Fences&Windows 02:51, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

No, I think you got the count wrong (should be more then 3) But yes -- commercial editors contributed to this article. I'm in discussions now with a few admins / OTRS volunteers about the best way to do COI tagging without violating WP:NOTADVERTISING.
There's also been some discussions about the "amount of use" of this talk page. I'm open to suggestions on that, and would use any consensus on that matter as a basis for future training.
Thanks for your help!     Eclipsed   (talk)   (code of ethics)     14:26, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

copyright violation/close paraphrasing of an unreliable source

Quite a few sections of the article have been copied or closely paraphrased from this source which is not a reliable source, being maintained by one person and probably based on the magicians' own information. I've removed the most blatant violations, but more work may need to be done. SmartSE (talk) 18:09, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

Good catch. The article has been rewritten a bit, and the references cleaned up also[9]. More may still be needed...     Eclipsed   (talk)   (COI Declaration)     21:39, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
The WP:COIN notice for this article was archived without further comment. Based on changes made, I will remove the {{refimprove}} and {{coi}} tags in a few days, unless there are any suggestions for more cleanup.     Eclipsed   (talk)   (COI Declaration)     04:02, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
There is still a lot of unsourced material. E.g. "Bavli moved to the United States in 2002. He is married and has a daughter." and most of the awards + media appearances too. As a general rule of thumb, I prefer there to have been secondary coverage of things like these as well to show that the awards/appearances are worthy of inclusion. At the moment it looks a lot like a CV. (It's best too if you don't remove COI tags from articles where you obviously have a COI as well) SmartSE (talk) 12:15, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the pointers. About a year has passed since we last chatted, WP:NORUSH ;) The article now has sources for the move to the USA and two children (primary[10], secondary[11]). A few other editors made some changes, but no one has tackled the WP:WEIGHT issue with the awards/appearances list yet.
Also, I added a Connected contributor template above on this talk page. Are there any outstanding issues not being addressed that would warrant the continued {{coi}} tag on the article? Thanks. Eclipsed   (talk)   (COI Declaration)   21:40, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

The issue is that the bottom part of it does still read like a resume. Usually, the best method to avoid this is to put everything into a prose format, rather than a bullet point format. Also, to have a few overall section headings and lower headings below that, not have everything be a level 2 section heading. SilverserenC 17:06, 15 March 2012 (UTC)

copied current article to my sandbox at User:Eclipsed/Guy Bavli. I'll do some editing on it soon, but in the meantime anyone else is free to edit the draft (If you are connected to the subject, please first add yourself to the {{Connected contributor multi}} tag on the bottom of the draft.) Thanks. Eclipsed   (talk)   (COI Declaration)   21:42, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
