Different teams!

[edit]

I see Smileyboy has managed to hijack again the article without providing any source. HCM Baia Mare (now defunct) and CS Minaur Baia Mare are two different teams. --Nenea hartia (talk) 17:04, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Rodw:: I apologize for reopening this dispute and involving you in. HCM Baia Mare (now defunct) and CS Minaur Baia Mare are two different handball teams, although some of the people behind both of them might be the same. But as you can see from this Baia Mare City Council's official decision (in Romanian) CS Minaur has been founded on 27 May 2015. Furthermore, one of the Minaur's officials at the time, Vasile Viman, has clearly stated that "the new club has no connection with the old entity". There are two articles on Romanian Wikipedia, which is absolutely correct, one about the defunct team, the other one about the new team. I don't know if it is of any importance, but the second article was written by someone who actually lives in Baia Mare and who has contributed to many articles about handball on Romanian Wiki. I think the only one who doesn't understand the reality here is a user with a long list of warnings. That being said, I cleaned as much as I could both English articles and i corrected the interWiki links. I also noticed that you (in good faith, I'm sure) have used a tool to edit redirections like this one. Could you please be so kind and revert all of them? Or better, could you replace CS Minaur Baia Mare (women's handball)|HCM Baia Mare with HCM Baia Mare (women's handball)|HCM Baia Mare? This way all articles would correctly redirect towards HCM Baia Mare. Is this technically possible? Thank you in advance for your reply! --Nenea hartia (talk) 18:54, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. I don't know enough the topic to get involved in any disputes on the merits of one article or two, but I have reverted my edit at 2015–16 Women's EHF Champions League main round which you referred to. If you can highlight the other articles I will willingly revert my edits. This does mean that there are multiple links pointing to HCM Baia Mare which only includes one male and one female team - others working on Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links are likely to find them and take the same action I did. If both teams had articles and were added to the dab page it may prevent the error occurring again.— Rod talk 19:49, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I have added HCM Baia Mare (women's handball) to the dab page which may help.— Rod talk 19:53, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Rodw:: Thank you very much! Most of your edits are in this list. I know it's a lot and I wouldn't ask you to take care of all of them since it was not your fault. But if you could at least take a look at the competitions pages, like for example 2013–14 EHF Women's Champions League, 2015–16 Women's EHF Champions League, 2013–14 Liga Națională (women's handball), 2014 Baia Mare Champions Trophy and so on, I could manually edit player's pages myself. Take your time, do it when you can and thank you once again! --Nenea hartia (talk) 21:05, 7 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
