[edit]This is unrelated to the Scots name. It derives from the people calling Trantor Hame for "home". 4.249.3.119 (talk) 19:51, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Hello a question
[edit]Is it okay if I add a fictional character into the page? The character is a wolf I think Hamish McDuff or something from wolves of the beyond.
Yours sincerely, me 😉. AnonymousMeh (talk) 21:30, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
I meant just Hamish not Hamish McDuff AnonymousMeh (talk) 21:32, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
In sorry for being stupid is it possible to put Hamish from wolves of the beyond into animals? AnonymousMeh (talk) 21:34, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
Alternate origins?
[edit]As I understand it this name also originates in Yiddish, and there is an origin in the Middle East and India, no? Separate threads, as far as I'm aware, but not a uniquely Scottish name?
Or maybe this wiki is focused on the English language sources and it wouldn't be appropriate to mention that?
