I see your point, but my article is slightly longer and more detailed than the version that appears in "The Statement of Randolph Carter." Also, since Carter has his own page I thought it only fair that Warren should have one as well; you see, this page means a lot to me as it's not only my first Wikipedia article but also Harley Warren happens to be my favourite of Lovecraft's characters. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Resident of arkham (talk • contribs) 05:45, 9 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]
The material that was not transferred into "The Statement of Randolph Carter" is, in my opinion, material that doesn't fit in with Wikipedia's guidelines, mainly No Original Research. Like the idea that Warren is The Outsider--an interesting idea, but it seems to be your idea, not one that's spelled out in the stories or (I expect) put forward by notable critics. Wikipedia is not the place to put forward interpretations like that.
Wikipedia's preference is to deal with fictional characters in the context of the works they appear in--it's because Carter is the protagonist of several stories that he needs to have his own article. There's no reason why Warren can't be dealt with in the "Statement" article. It's not a question of how "deserving" the character is.
If you really feel bothered by having this article up, then it's all right if you have it deleted. I see your points and while I slightly disagree, it's not important enough to me to get angry or argue over. Resident_of_Arkham
I removed a paragraph linking Harley Warren and the HPL story "The Outsider." This connection was patently ridiculous for many reasons, including the protagonist of the Outsider having never left his underground lair before and the lack of any citation whatsoever. I've got the ST Joshi annotated Lovecraft right here, and there ain't a word of connection. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.187.194.178 (talk) 17:49, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
