None of these worldwide sales were ever confirmed we had need citations and no-one put them up and now you guys are just leaving it without being cited.

Lead Artist/Soundtrack/Other

[edit]

Can we please make it back to where we had her singles as lead artist, soundtrack, and then other charted songs? It looks better than just having them all as one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.21.204.6 (talk) 06:30, 27 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

\ Her singles are: SO YESTERDAY, COME CLEAN (metamorphosis) FLY, SOMEONE'S WATCHING OVER ME (hilary duff) WAKE UP, BEAT OF MY HEART (most wanted) PLAY WITH FIRE, WITH LOVE, STRANGER (dignity)& REACH OUT (best of)

Prophet on "Reach Out"

[edit]

Prophet is not a featured artist on "Reach Out". He is not credited on the single cover, and he is not credited on either the back cover or liner notes of Best of Hilary Duff. The liner notes state that "Prophet appears courtesy of Trojan Horse Records", but he is not credited as a featured artist. The featured credit should be removed since his rap on the song is uncredited. –Chase (talk) 02:19, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Font sizes too large?

[edit]

In response to this edit summary: the fonts do not seem too large to me. The way you previously adjusted them, Harout72, was too small and was very difficult for me to read. Just thought I'd respond here in case you or any other editors had comments about this. –Chase (talk) 01:52, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They seem fine for me as well. We should use % rather than points though, as % scales with the resolution, whereas points are absolute and might look bodged. (Which I assume they do in Harout72's resolution.) For example, see other featured discographies such as A Perfect Circle discography, Alice in Chains discography etc. Nymf hideliho! 02:14, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, to me those mentioned discography-tables (above) look excellent size wise. I believe, the same should be considered here.--Harout72 (talk) 03:16, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I figured the problem was likely due to Harout72's resolution. I'll change the points to percentages. –Chase (talk) 20:39, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, actually my resolution is set on 1920 x 1080 (60Hz). If it was set on something like 1280 x 720; sure, it would make everything appear very large, but my settings tell me it's probably not only my screen the table appear that large on. Anyways, using % instead of points should do the job, I think. Thanks.--Harout72 (talk) 00:48, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

They are way a little to large Alxknight (talk) 20:19, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

new hd discography

[edit]

i created a discography page for hilary duff, which is accurated as possible User:Alxknight/sandbox pls let me know what you think... however i didnt put 4ever hilary duff, because i did not find any official source to make sure it is an official, if you guys like we can use that page for her discography, pls support it if you like it, in this talk page section, thanx Alxknight (talk) 21:35, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There's several problems with it.
  • 1. Santa Claus Lane is a studio album and not listed with the rest.
  • 2. 4ever Hilary Duff indeed does exist per Amazon, Italian iTunes, and this source which is the main source being used in the article. ✔
  • 3. "I Can't Wait" was never a Duff single; it was released to Radio Disney and had a music video, that's it. There are no CD singles or such available of it. ✔
  • 4. " Tell Me a Story" was also not a single; again, no singles were released of it. it was a Radio Disney single,. ✔
  • 5. "Play with Fire" only being released to clubs is original research. I'm pretty sure it was released as a CD single in several countries.
  • 6. Dignity sales come from an unreliable source: The Insider is not unreliable,

Furthermore, this seems to be an almost complete revert back to the version of the page before I organized/improved it. I spent over a month improving this article which, quite frankly, did not deserve to remain at FL status. –Chase (talk) 20:19, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- User:Alxknight/sandbox

  • 1. holiday/christmas albums are not put in studio albums sections, as you can see in christina aguilera discography as this page was before, rolling stone even stated metamorphosis is duff's first propher studio album, meaning her first official album, in which nothing else needs to be discuss in that matter. your claim can be disclose, as rolling stone is in the industry, ans you aren't
  • 2-4 were fixed,
  • 5. was realased as a club single, no official and realible resource is found ro support YOUR claims.
  • 6. dignity sales have been discuss before, though no official sales records i will leave 500,000+ sales in US alone, in which in was certfied gold.

Furthermore, their is a diffrence betwenn your edits and mine, for i want to fix and clean up what you created in this page, causing chaos, so if other users more than three users agree we will use this formatAlxknight (talk) 22:09, 22 March 2010 (UTC) thanx[reply]

We use consensus here, not vote, so don't set it to however many users agree. I have not been causing chaos, I actually improved a page that was in very bad shape. Again, you have NO source to back up that Play with Fire was only released to clubs, and The Insider source added by a user of the site (not reliable at all) cannot be used, simple as that. Back on Santa Claus Lane, Christina Aguilera discography is a different article entirely, and that issue can be settled there. However, consensus was gained by the community at Template talk:Infobox album that we are to consider holiday albums studio albums. The Rolling Stone quote was an opinion, not a fact. "Proper" is not synonymous with "official"; they simply meant that it was her first mainstream release. –Chase (talk) 22:40, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
i have noticed on that community infobox, that they stated theire isint such thing as an rock album by or pop album by, but why when christmas albums are put and discuss it is notifed its a christmas/holiday album? why? because its in a sepearated place and info, than a regual album> you know what i mean? i also noticed that the final statedment made by a user saying that exceptions are made when theire isint enough proof änd official"statestemts regarding a christmas albums as a full englis-studio album? what do you think? Alxknight (talk) 04:17, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We work with what we have. What we have is this: Santa Claus Lane is too long to be an EP, the first album released officially by Duff, and several sources which correctly refer to it as her debut, despite Duff's claims otherwise. We're not going to ignore any releases just because Duff doesn't acknowledge them. (However, she actually seems to in the liner notes for Dignity – she refers to it as her fourth album.) We should not move Santa Claus Lane to a different section because there's nothing else it could be besides a studio release. It's not an EP, it's not a compilation. –Chase (talk) 19:54, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be noted, for anyone who is watching this conversation, that Alxknight has an open SPI, and if he indeed is a sockpuppet, he used his previous ducks to edit war over whether Santa Claus Lane is a studio album or not. –Chase (talk) 22:12, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

my points in argument over studio albums, all links states metamorphosis as duff's debut album, pls take a look:

[6] DEFINES OFFICIALS'S synonyms, PROPER is listed, Alxknight (talk) 22:06, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Santa Claus Lane was an officially released studio album, and thus it will remain listed as such. –Chase (talk) 23:54, 23 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
not really, these links to the official USA charts, recoginzes and acknowleged santa claus lane as her debut not her studio album, these aren't lies, but facts, santa claus will be changed, if you see the sysnoms for proper its official, pls visit the links so you can be aware of your wrong edits, Alxknight (talk) 00:29, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
i am not lying why don't you read the links? it says the facts! Alxknight (talk) 00:29, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
We are not going to erase an album from her discography just because one source considers it to be her first proper pop album. This will not be changed without strong consensus, which will unlikely be gained on something so controversial as denying the existence of an officially-released album. –Chase (talk) 03:35, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Also, despite Duff's previous claims that Metamorphosis is her first album, the liner notes for Dignity, as I previously said, state the following, "I can't believe I'm sitting here coming up with the 'Thank You' notes for my fourth record." She could be referring to Most Wanted as her third following Metamorphosis and Hilary Duff, but it's unlikely since it was a greatest hits/compilation release and not a studio album. –Chase (talk) 03:40, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
the sources are more than one, like rolling stones, billboard & more, never has it been denied that santa claus lane exsisted, but is stated that metamorphosis is her first studio album not her debut, the fourth record as you said can be most wanted or even 4ever, but a record don't mean its a studio album, records can be a greatest hits, christmas albums and others too, (check the definition) futhermore, you said that duff's does not acknowleged santa claus lane but if she dosn't why would she in her linear lines? your claims don't make sense... in conclusion, soucers claim the acknowlegedmnt of santa claus lane but as her debut and metamorphosis as her first studio, follwed by hilary duff & most wanted, ect., one more think, again i bring up the talk in the infobox.community, where it was finished with, there can be exceptions if theire is enough information to stated the opposite, why not this one? if the issue was resolve? for the so called "conterversy" though i did not take part of that infobox, i am taking part now, where i stand by the REAIBLE resouces and duff's (for they know more than both of us) ... what else is there to argue, with your claims having loopholes, and not makin sense?Alxknight (talk) 07:43, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Santa Claus Lane is obviously a Christmas album, and it's a studio album due to being over 30 minutes in length. We gained consensus at Template talk:Infobox album that Christmas albums are to be considered studio albums (if they are not EPs) due to the fact that they are simply holiday-oriented concept albums. If you don't like the consensus, take it there, not here. I'm not willing to discuss this any further here since you're choosing to ignore consensus gained elsewhere. –Chase (talk) 20:07, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note for anyone viewing this discussion – Alxknight has been confirmed by checkuser (see WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Eddiep803b) to be a sockpuppet of User:Eddiep803b. The sockmaster, Eddie, was blocked indefinitely (see WP:Sockpuppet investigations/Eddiep803b/Archive) last month for using socks to support his idea that the Santa Claus Lane album should not be considered a studio album despite consensus at Template talk:Infobox album, and using 3RR to edit war at that article. –Chase (talk) 01:43, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

reach out chart!!

[edit]

why not put the correct numbers in for reach out instead of leaving it blank, it charted at 51 in australia and 193 in the UK, it says this on the individual page for reach out so why not on the singles discography? i tried to add them but someone took them off again even though they are correct. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.148.126.16 (talk) 00:57, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Reach Out article must have been vandalized, because those chart positions are not correct. You might wish to browse the references and see the sources used, which clearly show it did not chart in those territories. –Chase (talk) 20:25, 5 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I see, I have looked at the one for the australian position before and remember it was correct however if the source has been changed and doesnt prove this then it shouldnt be included, althought the source for the UK position does state that reach out was at 193, however this source could be unreliable as i have never heard of the website and it doesnt seem to be proffesionally made. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.148.126.16 (talk) 01:23, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

un-needed chart positions

[edit]

is the mexico and swiss chart positions needed? first of all it's missleading. secondly only 2 out of 5 albums (including "most wanted") charted. and theire are other chart positions that we can add ex: (japan, france, ect.) there is no rule for 10 chart positions!? why can't we use [usa, aus, can, fra, jap, irl, nl, nz, uk] + add italy do compilation albums, because they don't need to be the same... & for "dignity" looking at sales in canada, and australia werent they certifited? Ifiwere (talk) 19:43, 3 July 2010 (UTC) .[reply]

i have been working on a new discography table

[edit]

pls take a look...user:Ifiwere/Sandbox

  • p.s.: dignity dvd was certified platinum in argentina, the only dvd of dignity is in the deluxe edition of dignity, thus making dignity a platinum album in argentina.
  • 4ever is the title of the italian exclusive compilation album, ref was added to show proof,

pls let me know what you think, Ifiwere (talk) thank you :) —Preceding undated comment added 21:29, 18 August 2010 (UTC).[reply]

Japan

[edit]

i think that a column is needed for japan, all her albums have charted there most going top ten and two going gold, i think its notable enough to have a column —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.13.83.88 (talk) 22:55, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lock the page?

[edit]

it is constantly being change without sources, i think it should be locked, however one piece of information we do have that we could put in is that metamorphosis did sell five million copies world wide, the source is on the article itself somewhere and i think it should be added. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.243.29.145 (talk) 17:16, 5 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Supergirl as a single

[edit]

Hello!

I'm not sure if we can really consider Supergirl as a single. It was released on iTunes primarily because it was only originally available on the Collector's Signature Edition of Most Wanted, and no where else. This doesn't really make it a single does it?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by DLav87 (talkcontribs) 17:21, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Circle of Life listed in music video section

[edit]

I've noticed that someone has added "Circle of Life" into the music video section. I'm not entirely sure that this song should be featured in this list as it is technically credited to Disney Channel Circle of Stars, and not Hilary as an individual. Not only that, but the "cast", for lack of better words, of this group has changed over the years and is entirely different now. I'm not sure how this should be handled. I mean, she was only featured in the song for about ten seconds...if that. Maybe we should make a note saying that it is a "Disney Channel Circle of Stars" song that she was a part of very briefly? Any opinions on this?

Also, now that I think about it....I could have sworn her "Santa Claus Lane" song had an unofficial music video, didn't it?

"List of Miscellaneous Song Recordings" added to "other releases" section

[edit]

Hello! I noticed that there was an "other releases" section that has been sitting on this article for quite some time, so I decided to make use of it.

I created a list of all the various songs she's recorded over that years that has NOT been featured on any of her studio or compilation albums. The list is strictly meant for the songs on various soundtracks she's done, and the songs must originate from that album. The only exception to this is "Little Lies", as it doesn't yet have an originating album. The songs are listed in order of availability and album release, as well as track listing order if multiple tracks are on the same album (aka Cinderella Story). I think this is a good addition to her discography page.

A couple more things...there is also a wikipedia page called "List of songs recorded by Hilary Duff", which I keep up on and update regularly. I added a link to that page in this newly updated section, as I don't think the page is widely known by Duff fans!

EDIT: I apologize for the many Wiki edits on the main article page. I'm not the most savvy Wiki editor in the world. Still a learning process! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:199:300:D92:A0A5:CCE2:CB74:7DA5 (talk) 01:01, 11 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
