Influenced by Mini?
[edit]"Notable influences on the new design include the new Mini, and even the Porsche 356." What kind of crap is this? If anything the reverse is true, the Morris Oxford influenced the original Mini in styling the new Mini was influenced by the old Mini. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.109.99.167 (talk) 09:10, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
No, the 2003 facelift of this car was inspired by the new mini and the 356. this has nothing todo with the morris oxford. please read things properly before making stupid claims.(82.3.42.232 (talk) 00:54, 11 April 2009 (UTC))
Image needs replacement
[edit]Hello all...
An image used in the article, specifically Image:IMGP0134.JPG, has a little bit of a licensing issue. The image was uploaded back when the rules around image uploading were less restrictive. It is presumed that the uploader was willing to license the picture under the GFDL license but was not clear in that regard. As such, the image, while not at risk of deletion, is likely not clearly licensed to allow for free use in any future use of this article. If anyone has an image that can replace this, or can go take one and upload it, it would be best.

Politicos in Ambys
[edit]Someone added another politician to the section where Sonia Gandhi is mentioned as a prominent politician holding on to her Ambassador. While I don't doubt that N. Chandrababu Naidu is important in his own right, the intro section is hardly a good place to begin a never-ending list of Indian politicians using Ambys. Maybe there could be room for another list in a section of its own, but I see this too becoming troublesome - best to keep politics out of a car article.
Leaving Sonia Gandhi in is also not a statement of support for the Congress Party or anything such. She just happens to be the one current Indian politician perhaps best well known to a global reader, and she rides in an Ambassador - one supposes it is to make her seem more Indian, but that's an entirely different story. ⊂ Mr.choppers ⊃ (talk) 02:43, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Request for Reorganisation
[edit]I feel that the article needs to be cleaned up. Particularly, the references to Avigo deserve a separate section. Preferably, a model-based historical/chronological account, enriched with past and current owners' experience should be provided. After all, the Ambassador is a classic car! --anon
I think the Avigo should go in a separate article. It is not an 'Ambassador', nor marketed as one, is it? Also, changing the image to that of the Ambassador Classic rather than an Avigo would seem appropriate. Matthayichen (talk) 06:28, 6 March 2011 (UTC)
- I agree, and moved the Avigo into a more prominent section which also contains its infobox. (I moved this to the bottom of the talkpage, as it is the most recent addition I think. ⊂| Mr.choppers |⊃ (talk) 18:04, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

[edit]There are two pictures of the same car, one caption reads "1955" and the other "1956". - theWOLFchild 10:46, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
