Dust bowl?[edit]

There is a brief mention in this article about Lawton being affected by the dust storms, but after living there for several years and talking with locals, it was my understanding that Lawton did not experience the dust storms that badly. They had dust, but not the rolling storms you see. In fact, if you look up the dust storm maps available online, Lawton is left out completely. At this page (Illinois.edu) there is this map and this page (ksu.edu) has this map. You see how it is going. Granted, the dust did go so far as even NYC and DC, so naturally Lawton would have gotten a lot of it, but the storms were not there. For this reason, I reworded the sentence to better reflect Lawton's true experience. MagnoliaSouth ^(talk) 16:54, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
