Commons link[edit]

I was wanting to add a commons link and check coords but I am not confident as to the current location of the station. Is it still in the same building as Holyhead Maritime Museum or is there a new one? There may also be a separate IRB station? My research on maps has not been conclusive and the RNLI sites are not clear. User:Tony Holkham can you help please? SovalValtos (talk) 19:46, 11 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

SovalValtos The coordinates in Holyhead Maritime Museum don't appear to be correct (it is clearly by the sea), but the coordinates for Holyhead seem to be accurate. The lifeboat station and museum are close to each other, and both at Newry Beach (which is not on the OS map, annoyingly) according to their websites. The museum and station are both marked on there, at a guess 100 metres apart. They have a Severn and a D-class, but no indication as to whether they are both kept together. Does this help? I am going to take this carefully as I hate adding duff info. I have been sufficiently confident to change the coords of the museum from inland to the coast. I did find a map showing Newry Beach as the name of a road rather than just a pushpin, and there is much about Newry Beach in google results as a proposed development. The RNLI could be next door to the museum or separated. My next step will be some phone calls. SovalValtos (talk) 04:34, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bing maps shows Newry Beach as a named road. The current station without a launching ramp is nearer 400yds west of the museum. The Severn class is moored and there is an IRB as said above.SovalValtos (talk) 19:37, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The current Holyhead Maritime Museum premises LL65 1YD 53.317 N 4.636 W. Disused by RNLI
Salt Island (I am not sure exactly where, possibly 53.318 N 4.625 W) Disused by RNLI
Prince of Wales Road, Newry Beach, LL65 1YA 53.318 N 4.642 W - No slipway as the Severn class is moored in the Marina?? and the IRB is trailer launched?

There is another IRB based at Trearddur Bay.
