Meaning of Name in English

Does anyone know what the name of this place translates into English?

Yes, actually.

It stands short for

Hol(land), the province it is in (North-Holland)

Y -> Is a way of spelling the ij, which refers to the nearby Lake (Ij-Meer)

Sloot which is what is already said in the article. Ditch is a way to translate it.
