Million Sellers

[edit]

Kumi Koda's Koi no Tsubomi and Utada Hikaru's Keep Tryin have both exceeded 1 million downloads (2 million for keep tryin)

I've reverted your change. "Hot Digital Songs" is a Billboard chart, which means it ranks downloads sold in the United States. The artists you mention may have worldwide totals of over 1 million, but without a source there is no way of knowing. -- eo 13:12, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone else think this should be alphabetized?

Most downloads sold

[edit]

This section is starting to get too long, and obviously its just going to continue to grow. How can this be cut down? What criteria should be used? We can't possibly list every million-seller til the end of time. Any thoughts? - eo 02:47, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone have input here? If not, I'm gonna cut the list - it just keeps getting longer and is starting to look ridiculous. - eo 18:49, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not even sure why million-selling downloads are included in the piece. This is an article about Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart, not million-selling downloads. Seems like that information would be better included in Wikipedia's article regarding Gold Records. (But whatever happens, Jessica Simpson's "These Boots are Made for Walkin'" did not sell anywhere near a million downloads.)

Difference?

[edit]

What's the difference between the "Hot Digital Songs" list and the "Hot Digital Tracks" List? The Person Who Is Strange 21:52, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Hot Digital Tracks includes a separation of explicit and clean, plus remixes. However, Hot Digital Songs combines them together for one song. Tcatron565 (talk) 00:05, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

UPDATE NEEDED

[edit]

This page is two weeks late. The current n.1 isn't Nothin on You, it's OMG. I tried to edit that but someone canceled it. You should also change the n.1 list page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.89.211.66 (talk) 00:25, 7 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DIGITAL OR DOWNLOADS

[edit]

This page needs an explanation as to what it is about. CDs have been digital since they came out... and there is nothing to indicate that this page is not talking about songs in digital form. ZhuLien (talk) 00:05, 6 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hot 100

[edit]

"Hot 100" has never been part of the name of this chart. Why is it included here? --Starcheerspeaksnewslostwars (talk) 08:06, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Number-one debuts

[edit]

Can we please get a consensus on whether to include a list of number-one debuts? Personally I think the list is already too long (28 titles) and a number-one debut on this chart, in my opinion, is not as notable as a number-one debut on one of the major (non-component) charts. In the digital age, with instantaneous nationwide access to buy a song the moment it comes out, number-one debuts on this chart are commonplace. Thoughts? - eo (talk) 19:39, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
