[edit]Connection to Hawthorne is questionable at best, see: Joseph A. Conforti, Imagining New England: Explorations of Regional Identity from the Pilgrims to the Mid-Twentieth Century (Chapel Hill: University of North Carolina Press, 2001), 250-52. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wistungsten (talk • contribs) 04:10, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- His cousin Suzannah lived in the house and he was a frequent visitor. If you read his writings, he discusses visiting her and going to the attic to see the scars from where the gables had been (They were removed by Suzannah's father and restored by Chandler in 1910) 173.166.104.9 (talk) 16:48, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
He wrote a book about the house, and spent time there; his connection is hardly "questionable". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.0.236.163 (talk) 19:06, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
