Thought this article should have a link to the main Syria article, so I've added it. Martan 08:02, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Biased/POV

[edit]

Yea, this article is very biased and POV. Even though it indicates most of the time the sources of its claims regarding the human rights situation in Syria, they are all one sided, and in my opinion false and preposterous. Also see the archived peer review as indicated above, to gain more insight. Asabbagh 22:42, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you mean it is still too pro-Assad or what? Doesn't represnet the reality down there? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.249.138.238 (talk) 23:42, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That Wikipedia uses Freedom House and the US State Department as independent or balanced sources on the state of human rights in Syria is clearly preposterous. And yet, despite the growing number of Human Rights outrages from ISIS, this article makes little attempt to hide an highly negative view on the Syrian government. And, given the lastest news reports from Syria, should not Wikipedia address its' neo-con views of free-loving protesters battling an evil Assad? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.24.228.3 (talk) 19:11, 30 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Human Rights Group Additions

[edit]

Per some suggestions in the peer review I added some statistics from Human Rights Watch. I reviewed Amnesty International records and reports on Syria but they were mostly unremarkable and redundant with the Human Rights Watch info. I added the relevant material and sourced it with info available from the web pages of the groups. MarkB2 05:40, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bush

[edit]

Why all the quotes from Bush? This article is about Syria not Dubya. --BoogaLouie (talk) 18:28, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updating

[edit]

Have updated and sourced the article and gotten rid of anything by or about Bush. --BoogaLouie (talk) 23:23, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rampant child torture by "thugs" missing

[edit]

There is not much about the torture of children here? Chesdovi (talk) 03:27, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Civil war

[edit]

Shouldn't this article cover some of the human rights violations committed by Syrian governmental forces during the Syrian Civil War, i.e. the events described in this article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mors Martell (talkcontribs) 16:31, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Article

[edit]

This article is about human rights in Syria, but the article is filled with human rights of Rojava but it has its own article. The human right issues of Syrian government haven't been also included. Also, unreliable sources have been added to support claims of different sides. Ferakp (talk) 14:15, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Some sections I deleted have been also deleted from the original article due to unreliable sources and WP:NPOV. Ferakp (talk) 14:24, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like the user who had added had involved in cherry picking, picking only sections that support his/her purpose. Also, I am keeping the section short as it has its own article. Going to rewrite it soon. Ferakp (talk) 14:26, 22 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
