Plot
We need to do something about the plot section on the main page. The section is mainly filled with detailed, superfluous information about every arc in the manga. The chapter list has summaries for each volume up to 14. If we want detailed summaries of each volume, let's just place them within there. I also propose that the "Plot" heading on the main page be shortened into something that gives a basic overview of the series without revealing everything there is to know about the story in a paragraph. -Mr. Toto (talk) 01:30, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- Agree. I have been trimming it a bit in the last hours, but I havent been able to trim more since I still finished reading the Greed Island arc.Tintor2 (talk) 01:51, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well we could just really trim it down to a "teaser" style summary of each arc, while listing the manga volume/chapters that each arc occurred in, with a link to the appropriate starting volume in the list of chapters, with detailed summaries for each volume. I did long summaries in the list of chapters for the first 10 volumes, then I sort of got tired of tired of it, and turned to less clean prose for 11-14, and then just stalled. -Zyrxil (talk) 19:25, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Title Pronunciation
I've Been Told that this (Manga/Anime)'s Name should be read/pronounced as (Hunter-ex-Hunter), But I also found some people calling it (Hunter-Hunter), I believe that (Hunter-ex-Hunter) makes more sense. Anyone objecting to Adding this to the Main Article ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Serag4000 (talk • contribs) 02:40, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- It's not whether it makes more sense, it IS Hunter-Hunter. The X is not an X, it's a symbol sometimes used in titles so signify joining/linking, and is silent. -Zyrxil (talk) 06:18, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- Togashi actually says so himself in volume 6 about the pronunciation--it's just Hunter-Hunter, Serag4000. I believe it came from a Japanese comedian who repeated words twice, or something. -Mr. Toto (talk) 13:15, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
Hiatus?
Anyone wnow the average amount of months each hiatus has been? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.77.255 (talk) 09:28, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
Character Pages
As they are right now, the character pages are much too long. I think we can condense this information significantly, since Wikipedia doesn't need a listing of literally every character in the entire series. Arguably, all we really need is one page with a list of characters important to the series. Do any regular editors have an objection to me doing this? -Mr. Toto (talk) 20:30, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
- None. Yup, your idea adheres to Wiki's format! ax (talk) 22:53, 15 June 2009 (UTC)
Huge article about Hunter x Hunter, hiatus and adaptation
I came across this Comipress' article which gives a huge explanation of the series' hiatus and how it affected the anime adaptation. I guess this could help with the article. Regards.Tintor2 (talk) 16:13, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
On forums, there's the rumor that the hiatuses are because of his addiction to MMORPGs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.134.7 (talk) 04:17, 1 May 2011 (UTC)
Addressing tagged concerns on main article
As someone who owns every volume of the series, and has watched the anime in its entirety repeatedly, I've decided to focus on fixing these notations in the immediate future. Please be ready for some boldness forthcoming, and please leave your criticism here for me to read, or on my talk page should it seem I somehow missed it here. Cheers! :D Chuchunezumi (talk) 13:47, 27 December 2009 (UTC)

Nen
Does anyone else think there should be a section to explain Nen? All the different types (Enhancer, Emitter, etc.) and techniques (Gyo, Zetsu, etc.). It seems to me to be an important aspect, that was explained quite in depth in the series, such as Stands from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Xfansd (talk) 16:34, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- We had a page, and it was extremely indepth, but it was deleted. You can still probably find what the article looked like on various wikias. Not sure were we would stick it even if we just made a section for it, since it would be a little out of place on the main page.XScar (talk) 20:26, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
kung fu??? A Japanese version is Kenpō.
There they meet a kung fu master named Wing, who trains them in utilizing Nen, a chi-like life energy that can be used to manifest superhuman powers.
心源流拳法 This is a name for Japan. It is not kung fu(功夫).
Does the version to localize destroy Japanese culture? The character treating kung fu (Japanese version is KENPO) wears Japanese-style clothes. Kenpō is different from kung fu. 60.40.7.150 (talk) 12:19, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
Categories removed
I have removed the categories for 2000 Musicals and 2002 Musicals. There may well be musicals based on this story, but that does not mean that this article should have musical categories. As an example, Much Ado About Nothing is by Shakespeare, but not a musical, and should not be in a musical theatre category. Much Ado is indeed a musical, unlike the much earlier inspiration. --DThomsen8 (talk) 22:55, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
- I disprove of this. I wouldn't have even known they existed if I hadn't read about them here. Also random note: The "official Japanese manga site" for HxH has been shut down. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.17.134.7 (talk) 01:11, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Genres
It seems that someone has been throwing whatever genre they can think of into the genre fields. Now they are bloated to "Action, Adventure, Supernatural, Drama, Fantasy". This is just too many and needs to be paired down to no more than three. I would recommend Adventure and Fantasy. The series isn't all that serious so Drama wouldn't fit. Fantasy covers Supernatural (the latter being more about ghosts, spirits, mystical forces, and the occult). Action and Adventure often go hand it hand, but overall, there isn't a whole lot of action in the series. —Farix (t | c) 03:22, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
English Shonen Jump publishing
Just want to note that the first chapter of Hunter × Hunter was published in the April 2005, No. 28 issue of Viz Media's English-language Shonen Jump (I actually own it). Although the last ten pages of the chapter were not included. Does this warrant adding Shonen Jump to the English magazines field in the infobox or inclusion of this info in the manga subsection? Rouge or Rogue?
Rouge is make-up used to redden cheeks, rogue is the rebel/outcast/theif etc type. Is rouge the correct word? Seems very weird it would be called "phantom red make-up". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rouge_(cosmetics) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.33.230.172 (talk) 11:22, 28 July 2013 (UTC) Sorry referring to the film "Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge". 27.33.230.172 (talk) 11:25, 28 July 2013 (UTC)LogiC
Recent edits regarding cancellation of series
The recent edits to the page that mention the cancellation of the series aren't sourced. The meaning of a sentence has been changed, which before meant it was still on hiatus
A quick search through Google didn't provide any meaningful results. Has Hunter x Hunter been indeed canceled or is it still on hiatus?
Also, the first external link (http://www.j-hunterhunter.com/) seems to point to a page that has been closed since 2011-08-03.--217.129.96.108 (talk) 11:15, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
