I'm proposing that these two articles be merged together and that one be deleted. They refer to the same franchise, and should be regarded as such. I will likely see what I can do about elegantly melding the two articles together, but if someone else has more time and skill then have at it. Of course, those who don't like the idea should also let their voices be heard. --EazieCheeze 06:43, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just from a quick read over the articles, it appears they are different franchises. They are different leagues and different names. The only "legacy" they carry forward is they are in the same building as the old franchise. I don't personally care if they are combined or not, but I have seen other scenarios where duplicates such as this remain. --otduff (talk/contribs) 14:22, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
They are two different franchises, but the transition was almost seamless. Those who didn't follow the news may not have even known. 9 players from the Cats' last season moved to the Havoc. The main reason the new team was adopted was to simplify the scheduling (the Havoc are owned by the same people who own the arena football team) and to cut ties with Cherney's shady business deals. There used to be some articles about the switch here, but I can't get them to open. I'll email the webmasters and try to get some more information for the Cats page. Havoc information should be easier to come by.
As for combining, I would vote no, but I'll understand if you want to do it. Chris 09:50, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Minor/Major editing[edit]

I have some additional data I would like to add to this subject including a correction to the first owners of the team. Among other thing, It was not Mr. Cherney who started the franchise; he bought it form two doctors in Knoxville, TN.

These are my first major edits on Wikipedia and understand that it is common practice to discuss major edits beforehand.

Fair use rationale for Image:CHL Logo.jpeg[edit]

Image:CHL Logo.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
