logo is wrong. compare ircnet.com (not related to the network, just fans) and ircnet.org — Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.245.220.240 (talk) 19:12, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That is not entirely correct. ircnet.com was run and endorsed by network administration as well as ordinary users. There was never an official website, whoever owned and managed a most credible website with a ircnet.* domain for the network had the advantage. --Aghors (talk) 15:56, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly Finnish users[edit]

"IRCnet mostly consists of Finnish communities." Could someone please verify this? Scoo 17:20, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

if you going to remove 1 legit site you had better remove them all str33tshen -- very upset -- co-owner of ufc-pride.org

I removed the crap with the bad grammar about the joining of, apparently, 2 servers into European ones. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bllasae (talkcontribs) 18:38, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sources[edit]

Plenty of sources exist, although many seem to be written for Nordic and German press outlets. Considering that this article's been flagged for a ref cleanup for over a year, I'd say it's overdue. Anyone feel expert enough to take it on? http://www.google.com.np/archivesearch?oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=com.ubuntu%3Aen-US%3Aunofficial&client=firefox-a&hl=en&q=IRCnet&ie=UTF-8 MrZaiustalk 16:48, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What about +R?[edit]

Article tells IRCnet doesn't operate services to service channel or nicknames, but it has implemented mode +R since at least 2005, which allows OPs to set hosts for the network to reop, should the channel end up into OPless state. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.100.83.191 (talk) 20:01, 30 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Me again. I added list of all services, but left the passage about +R be even if that's not a proper service from the network point of view. It's still in characteristics subtopic, even if that makes it look a bit messy. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.100.83.191 (talk) 19:32, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. It appears that one of Wikipedia's bots removed your addition because it contained what looks like email addresses. Is the information you added available in a reliable source (non-blog, non-wiki, non-forum) anywhere? --Lexein (talk) 21:04, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bots[edit]

Do you think the info about bots being "generally prohibited" is still valid? I'm on several big channels that have bots, have had for years. This has been so at least from 2007. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 194.100.83.191 (talk) 16:39, 30 June 2011

Do you have to get approval, or do people just run them? Whatever info needs updating in te article, please provide a reliable source. Otherwise, just discuss it here. --Lexein (talk) 20:56, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
