[edit]

This article was created as part of an effort to provide detail for a few remaining items which appear on the List of State Roads in Indiana, but which did not yet have articles. This article is descriptive, though necessarily short due to the nature of the subject. Further information is being sought. The infobox provides context. Omnedon 15:02, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Further description has been added. Omnedon 15:16, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see that much more information has now been provided, and I will be removing the tag. And you might want to take note that a consensus is NOT necessary for a Speedy Deletion. - Rjd0060 16:44, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Given that you are, as you yourself state, pretty new to Wikipedia editing, you should take more care when proposing the deletion of other peoples' work. I quote from Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion:
"Before nominating an article for speedy deletion, consider whether it could be improved or reduced to a stub; if so, speedy deletion is probably inappropriate. Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its creation if it appears incomplete."
You placed this tag a mere 23 minutes after the initial creation, and after additional edits had already been performed. Omnedon 17:45, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I use TW when editing so your page was brought to my attention that way. - Rjd0060 17:50, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the page was not a stub, but rather a complete article when I tagged it. And the fact that it has now been reduced to a stub plays a role in the decision to cancel a SD request. - Rjd0060 17:54, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Rjd0060: Please allow editors time to complete their initial drafts before judging the merits of newly-created articles. Few pages spring into existence fully-formed (most grow over the course of multiple edits), so patience is both good policy and good etiquette. Thanks! Huwmanbeing 19:37, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Huwmanbeing. Rjd0060, I don't wish to belabour the point; but at the same time, in light of your statements, I do feel I must just clarify this: the guidelines I quoted above state that making an article into a stub, or improving the article, are alternatives to tagging it for speedy deletion.
