This page is historically incorrect. The IFL was founded by Robert "Bob" Kap" my father. He was the 1st coach for the Dallas Tornado Soccer club - https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dallas-Tornado-Soccer-World-Tour-The-Movie/444305145707137?ref=hl He was also responsible for introducing soccer style kickers to American football and the NFL, starting with our family friend Lamar Hunt and the Kansas City Chiefs. Lamar following my father's advise to add Jan Stenerud to the roster.http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas-cowboys/headlines/20100302-Bob-Kap-innovator-in-kicking-4584.ece Dad then proceeded with the idea to introduce Football to Europe, I participated in the meetings with Pete Rozelle in New Your office of the NFL, was present at the signing of the letter of intent and assisted in organizing the exhibition games and money for 2 season we tried to operate the league. The facts are more accurate in this Wiki article in German http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/dallas-cowboys/headlines/20100302-Bob-Kap-innovator-in-kicking-4584.ece and https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intercontinental_Football_League

This Wiki article is therefore inaccurate and should be revised to reflect that my Father, Bob Kap, founded the League. Having been the Vice President and helping organize the league with my dad.

It is regrettable that my father, a visionary, is not being credited with being responsible for the professional expansion of American Football to Europe and beyond.

Please correct this, we have family archives with significant supporting documentation from the period. My family and I stand ready to assist anyone who wished to write an accurate and factually supported wiki on the intercontinental football league. My father's last effort at effecting the course of Football's evolution from USA and Canada ONLY to the world.

"Obvious reasons"

[edit]

"The IFL did not materialize. There are four obvious reasons:

Europe just wasn’t ready for American football.
Competition with the World Football League, which had planned to expand internationally to such cities as Tokyo and Mexico City.
The NFL players’ strike that summer.
The economic recession that was gripping the nation."

All of these need citations, ESPECIALLY that first one. It sounds like an unsubstantiated opinion. Also, WHICH nation is the last one talking about? --Khajidha (talk) 00:03, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
