Currently the article is stating: "The west end of the freeway is at exit 9; only the interchanges are listed along the surface US 40 west of there." If we're going by actual roadway, that's now out of date, sometime in October 07 they opened up the new freeway road at exit 9 west to previously opened short segment of freeway near the Lake St Louis exit and so now it's only the portion West of the Lake St Louis exit to shortly East of I-70 that's on a surface road. However, for some reason I can't determine that new portion of highway has been given a lower speed limit than the older freeway segment dispite appearing to have much lower traffic volume and the same quality of road as that older freeway segment.
