Cleanup and source replacements (September 2025)
[edit]In the recent cleanup I reorganized the article and replaced weak/unreliable sources.
- The article previously cited **Softpedia** (e.g., for the Baidu defacement). Per WP:RS, Softpedia is not considered a reliable source for politically sensitive topics. This citation has been removed and replaced with stronger references (CRN citing Reuters, CFR case file).
- Retained **UANI** and **Infosecurity Magazine** with explicit attribution, but note they are borderline sources and should not be sole references for disputed claims.
- Added high-quality sources including Wired, IT Pro, CFR, IISS, Carnegie, CSIS, and RAND.
- Reorganized into clearer sections (History, Known operations, Affiliations, Controversies, Assessment) and added an infobox.
- Added a Further reading section with academic/think-tank publications.
Goal: bring the article in line with WP:RS and WP:NPOV. If editors have additional mainstream or academic sources for the Baidu/Twitter incidents, please add them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ILikeMySteakRare (talk • contribs) 22:27, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
