In my opinion, this article either lacks sufficient Attribution that it satisfies the Notability criteria for Schools, or it may violate the Conflict of interest guideline, or perhaps it is a Copyright violation.

[edit]Wikipedia articles must be based on reliable sources to verify any claims of notability. Even though the lack of reliable source attribution in an article is not grounds for deletion in itself, an article with absolutely no sources (or only external links to unreliable ones) suggests to some editors that multiple reliable sources may not, in fact, exist.
Although I am considering tagging this article for deletion according to the Deletion policy, I am nonetheless willing to assist User:Mckbammer (talk · contribs), and other recent contributors to this article, to make constructive improvements to it ... I do not have time to examine this article in depth at the moment, and it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.
Please respond on this Discussion page, instead of on my Talk page, in order to avoid fragmenting the conversation.—triwbe (talk) 18:58, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
- This article was flagged at the ripe old age of 3 minutes? The COI and copyvio charges appear to be frivolous. Throwing the book at a newbie's first article like this seems WP:BITE-ish to me. • Gene93k (talk) 17:06, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- If you look at the first contact with the user (User talk:Mckbammer) I think it shows a very friendly and welcoming format that shows extreme AGF, and this template also proposes to assist the users. Much better than just tagging the article space and leaving the poor newbie to decipher it all alone. I wish more people had offered me help when I was a newbie. --triwbe (talk) 22:42, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- The addition of the InfoBox and WP:RS references (albiet primary sources) make it look Much Better than this version, and these improvements have added sufficient verisimilitude to the article that I am removing the Category:Flagged articles tag ... like the template sez,
Please see this essay that gives background on how the {{Flag-article}} and {{Flag-editor}} templates came into existence ... and please note that User:Triwbe did not use the... it may improve over time, in which case this warning was premature.

- The problem isn't just that the article was tagged so prematurely and with uneeded copyright and COI tags but the wording of the templates. The headline uses obscure acronyms and links to two pages with big templates that say the page's content has not been accepted by the community. On top of that, WP:SCL clearly states "senior secondary schools are considered notable" so this article shouldn't of been tagged in the first place. This appears to be very bitey to me also. ~ Eóin (talk) 04:20, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Add On
[edit]Should we include a section on "major" crimes that have happened in regards to the school. I know two different people who made bomb threats to the school in a two year period, plus I robbed it. There's plenty of sources. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.13.98.249 (talk) 04:20, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- Absolutely not. There are no truly notable such crimes, and high schools across the country receive similar threats. If there was a crime with substantial notability, then sure. Otherwise, no. Tanis.7x (talk) 02:56, 21 May 2010 (UTC)
Assessment
[edit]In response to a filing with the WikiSchools Project, I am assessing this article. I am pushing the class rating from stub to Start.
The article does have pretty good referencing for its size, but it is still lacking some referencing. Information not being reliably referenced and cited, especially extraordinary claims, needs to be removed.
There needs to be significant improvement in terms of a section on the school's history and curriculum. As it stands, a bulk of the article is on extracurriculars, and that is generally a red flag in terms of pushing the article's status beyond "Start" or "C".
There was one instance (which I removed) that appeared to be in violation of WP:NPOV .... when saying that a team has national standing, but has not won a national award, there is every indication that this is an unconscious attempt to bolster the school's prestige, and needs to be avoided.
The notable alumni section should be expanded and properly cited. Check out (strictly as an example) Maine East High School to get an idea as to how it should look .... 1-2 lines per alum is fine, but there must be a reliable source confirming that they attended the school.
Best of luck to all the editors here. Drop me a line if you have questions. LonelyBeacon (talk) 22:34, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
List of extra-curricular activities

recent additions to extra curricular activities
[edit]I will say that I am an alumni of this school, as well as an alumni of the FIRST team, and that what was added is true. I do not, however, dispute the reversion. I will however, try to find better verification of some of the statements, and, if I do find said sourcing, add in the notable information, and do my best to adhere to NPOV. Aunva6 (talk) 07:41, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
- oops, didn't check the dates. I think that it was right to say it was not notable, however, the team may have become notable enough for mention on this page, as they won a regional. I will find sources. Aunva6 (talk) 07:49, 16 March 2013 (UTC)
