Theme

When I saw this episode air, I thought it was kind of strange to have a christmas themed episode after the holiday season. Does anybody know why this is so? Is it because they had a christmas script ready to go, did the strike delay the episode, or what? QBasicer (talk) 02:02, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

The Prostitute

Also regarding how you call her the prostitute here, she is actually a prostitute, correct? The way she spoke seemed like she was, and their logical process of elimination regarding what Saint Nicholas represents, if she was following said logic, does make her one. I don't believe her acting in a nativity scene means she isn't a prostitute at all; she in fact specified that there was no reason to tell her mother, because it would only lead to her having to prove her righteousness. To words the end of the episode right after they find out she is going to die, Is the song barely playing loud enough hear, Sun King by the Beatles? Atheist issue

It has certainly been established that House feels there is no hereafter, only the here and now. He has indicated that more than once.
What about the episode with the patient who was electrocuting himself to see the afterlife? House then emulates his behaviour. There was some religious discussion in that one.

Religion is a symptom of irrational belief and groundless hope.

Although I wouldn't be surprised that House is an atheist, I don't think that quote confirms it. There are so many nuances to religious and spiritual beliefs (look at the number of Protestant denominations in the United States), that it is possible for someone to make critical statements about religion or the hereafter and not be an atheist. I don't know if House ever expressed any of his beliefs about a deity, but we need a clear statement about that specific point from an episode. Otherwise the atheist comment in the article needs to be removed as unsourced. Cresix (talk) 23:59, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

House is 100% atheist and there are plenty of times when he has indicated that.

The article is fine; it just needs some precision.

Wrong. It may be a "fact" in your mind, but it is not an objective fact that someone who states that "religion is a symptom of irrational belief and groundless hope" is always an atheist. There are lots of people who are anti-religion but are not atheists. Just because you can't understand that doesn't make it any less true, and YES, everything that is challenged on Wikipedia requires a source. The statement about House's atheism has been challenged, and without a source it is subject to removal. And if people regard Wikipedia a joke, it is more likely because of editors who feel entitled to run roughshod over policies and assume they have been granted some special privilege to do so.
