I am interested to know what is the justification for Ja 1250 to have it's own page. As I understand it, NZ locomotives are not to have separate articles about them unless they are exceptionally notable, according to the Wikiproject NZR manual of style. I contend that Ja 1250 does not meet the required criteria for exceptional notability and can be adequately (and is adequately) covered in the Ja Class article, and as such this article should be deleted. I'm pretty neutral here. I know it wouldn't survive the formal deletion process - and allow me to condemn it right now by stating that when I wrote the NZR WikiProject manual of style, I knew this article would not fulfill the locomotive notability guidelines (JA 1274 might) unless somebody adds some seriously significant information. However, I'm a pretty strong inclusionist and I've no problem with this article's existence. I don't think it harms the encyclopaedia or violates any of its goals. Hence I cannot be bothered initiating the deletion process, and if somebody else does, I will abstain from casting a vote either for or against deletion. - Axver (talk) 03:36, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since this article does not meet the notability requirements I have initiated the process of deletion. Gosteamnz (talk) 02:58, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Due to objection of deletion and suggestion of merging it with the NZR Ja article, I have begun this process instead. I would like to note that the majority of the content on here exists on the NZR Ja article, and as such if a merger does take place one should not expect much change to the existing NZR Ja article.Gosteamnz (talk) 01:12, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
