Instead of the awkward "Jewish Hating" wouldnt "antisemitic" be better? Or, I think, the best way to go would be to eliminate this tag altogether. If his upbringing had anything at all to do with his historical significance, I could see it, but as is, it is simply an out-of-place unwarranted and unnecessary detail. Just my two cents. Copper Thongs

[edit]

I removed the link to thongs, because it goes to a disambiguation page that doesn't list any type of thong this article could be referring to. Itsmeiam (talk) 04:25, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I changed "thongs" to "rivets" as I think thats what it is supposed to be, and the person who changed it did not state a reason why. Itsmeiam (talk) 04:31, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Harnesses?

[edit]

The Levi Co. biography does not mention harnesses, but instead says Davis used the rivets on saddle blankets. [1]

Why would a tailor make harnesses? Aren't harnesses made of leather? Ileanadu (talk) 04:24, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Last Sentence re his business - confusing

[edit]

What does this mean:

He also held his business for about 3-4 years before losing his position.

Is this a reference to the tailoring in Reno? Ileanadu (talk) 03:26, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. The final sentence quoted above seems purposefully ambiguous. Does anyone know what it actually means? 93.96.142.159 (talk) 05:04, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It would probably work to go to the referenced site. Does that help?Bosredsox24 (talk) 01:30, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merger

[edit]

Jacob Davis (inventor) and Jacob Youphes (Jacob W, Davis) --Centovalli (talk) 06:25, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I support this motion. Bosredsox24 (talk) 01:29, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. Also, the name he went by after emigration was Jacob W. Davis. That should be the primary article name. However, the content in the Youphes article is superior. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.248.14.93 (talk) 00:18, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
