This is essentially irrelevant in the current article. Klebe in all probability got the idea for the opera from Werfel's original play, not from an English film adaptation; Erik Levi's conjecture that the 1958 movie Me and the Colonel influenced Klebe's choice of subject matter and musical style is unsupported by the evidence. My recommendation is to omit this sentence.
