Article???

If Romney/Ryan win the presidential election, at that time, late November 6/early November 7, 2012, it would be appropriate to create an article on Janna Ryan as the incoming "second lady." However, she is NOT notable of her own right at the present time and therefore it would currently be inappropriate to create an article for her. Safiel (talk) 19:34, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

The comparison points are recent spouses of the losing major party vice presidential candidates: Todd Palin (2008), Elizabeth Edwards (2004), Hadassah Lieberman (2000), Joanne Kemp (1996), N/A (1992), Beryl Ann Bentsen (1988), John Zaccaro (1984), N/A (1980), Elizabeth Dole (1976), Eunice Kennedy Shriver (1972), Jane Muskie (1968), Stephanie Miller (1964), Emily Sears Lodge (1960). (The N/A's are cases where the loser was an incumbent Second Lady, such as Barbara Bush, and thus would have an article anyway.) About an equal amount of red and blue, although more blue lately. What is the rationale for waiting until if/when Ryan becomes the VP? As was pointed out in the post above, since the 1960's, almost every *losing* VP spouse has ended up with an article, so what's the purpose of waiting to publish hers? She is already a public figure who is well-known by American voters and has had lots of press attention paid to her. In this day and age, participating (even as a spouse) in a presidential election certainly exposes a person to the public enough for them to be defined as "notable."
