Dates don't match...[edit]

How is it possible for John to have died in the late 1700's when the children listed for him were all born in the mid to late 1800's?!?! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 132.3.57.81 (talk) 15:43, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Who was Mackenzie?[edit]

′Seemingly, his lectures were very popular and he decided to produce an up-to-date text for his students to replace James Dalrymple, 1st Viscount of Stair's much used Institutions of the Law of Scotland. Erskine wished to expand on the brevity of Mackenzie' work, fill in gaps and bring it up to date.′

Who was Mackenzie, whose too-brief work Erskine wished to expand on? It is definitely not another name for James Dalrymple of Stair. — Preceding unsigned comment added by UnknownSage (talkcontribs) 13:53, 22 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
