John Logan Cambell[edit]

[Moved here from Schwede66's talk page]

Hi Schwede66, I have never ever heard him referred to as just "Logan Campbell", but always as "John Logan Campbell". He is very famous under that name as "the father of Auckland". I would change the title to John Logan Campbell.Rick570 (talk) 21:13, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

From his DNZB bio: "So did John Logan, or Logan as he was more generally known, and he like his father studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh." I've never come across a case where DNZB hasn't got this right, and hence I didn't go through a formal move request, but boldly went ahead with renaming the article. I see that there is a Logan Campbell Room in The Northern Club. Schwede66 21:41, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Nevertheless, if you referring to him as such in Auckland, the name would probably generally be "corrected" to "John Logan Campbell" or there would be some question as to who was meant. Others would be more expert on this than me.Rick570 (talk) 23:34, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to put it up as a formal move request. Do you know how to do that? It can't simply be moved back; the system wouldn't allow you to. And by what you say, it should probably be formally discussed anyway. Schwede66 23:59, 4 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm more familiar with him being called John Logan Campbell, and restoring the article to that title feels more natural to me than the present disambiguated title of "Logan Campbell (politician)".-gadfium 09:41, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Let's put it up as a formal move request. Schwede66 19:13, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
