Team name clarification

[edit]

Is the men's lacrosse team alone called the Blue Jays, or is every team at JHU called the Blue Jays? The article implies the former. --Factrenderer (talk) 15:15, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

all hopkins teams are the blue jays.Toyokuni3 (talk) 20:03, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Musical tradition

[edit]

i wonder if it is considered sufficiently relevant, but there is (used to be?) a traditional sequence of german songs played by the band when the jays scored 20,21,22, etc. goals. of course this was in the day before pressler introduced the extremely conservative style of play prevalent today.if i recall correctly, they played ach du lieber, augustine at 20, du,du liegst mir im herzen at 21, and the beer barrel polka at 22.personally, i think it deserves mention, as does 1, 2, 3, etc., we want more.Toyokuni3 (talk) 20:03, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

also the tradition of the flags tied to the backs of the goals representing the blue jay lax players (not sure about that. they may have been students or alums only) who died in the world wars.Toyokuni3 (talk) 17:55, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
