Violation of WP:NFF

[edit]

WP:NFF: Films that have not been confirmed by reliable sources to have commenced principal photography should not have their own articles, as budget issues, scripting issues and casting issues can interfere with a project well ahead of its intended filming date. The assumption should also not be made that because a film is likely to be a high-profile release it will be immune to setbacks—there is no "sure thing" production. Until the start of principal photography, information on the film might be included in articles about its subject material, if available. Sources must be used to confirm the start of principal photography after shooting has begun.

This article is a blatant violation of WP:NFF. The film has been in development hell for over a decade. It has not begun filming. It has nothing but a ridiculous sequence of rumours "confirming" things that never come to pass. 202.81.243.53 (talk) 17:56, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Predictably the redirect was reverted by someone who said "the film starts shooting in like 3 weeks". If it does, great. Until it actually happens, it hasn't actually happened. WP:NFF sets a simple and clear criterion and that has not been satisfied yet. 202.81.243.53 (talk) 01:37, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There are exceptions should the article has enough material to be kept. This one does. Please stop deleting this article. Rusted AutoParts 02:08, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Really? I see no such exception mentioned on the policy page WP:NFF. It's easy to collect material on a proposed sequel to a popular movie. It's all speculation and empty talk until they start shooting film. 202.81.243.53 (talk) 02:51, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The articles Man of Steel, Avengers: Age of Ultron and The Dark Knight Rises are just a few of many. Rusted AutoParts 02:53, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:OTHERCRAP doesn't trump WP:NFF. But you outnumber me, so policy doesn't matter. 202.81.243.53 (talk) 02:59, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
WP:IAR. Policy is just that. Policy. They are not strict rules or requirements that people MUST abide by. gsk 04:24, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, they are. Since that's the level of debate here. 202.81.243.53 (talk) 13:35, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Im sorry, but I don't think you've been around long enough to say a policy has to be enforced. If this movie wasnt gearing up for production soon, then your query would be justified, but since there's sufficient sources to pass WP:GNG, it can say. Rusted AutoParts 13:37, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
