Article name

[edit]

I have moved this article back to KYES from KYES-TV. Consensus on both WP:NC#Broadcasting and Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Television_Stations#Article_names is that the article name should reflect the actual call letters of the TV station. As can be seen here: [1] the call letters for this station are in fact KYES. Any concerns regarding this topic would be best addressed here: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Television_Stations. note for updating

[edit]

As of now, KYES-TV5 is broadcasting DTV via the KYES-TV5 VHF transmitter on Channel 5 and via K22HN on UHF 22. both report as 5.x; 5.3 is universal sports, according to my TV. Wfh (talk) 09:38, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Subchannels have changed according to this article: http://www.anchoragepress.com/news/tv-or-not-tv-ktva-and-kyes/article_f4cd4414-9003-11e1-ba40-001a4bcf887a.html

Station is also offering free political airtime according to this article: http://dailycloudt.com/voice/268/does-an-alaskan-tv-owner-have-the-solution-to-our-money-corrupted-politics-altruistic-citizen — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jstyninger (talkcontribs) 23:37, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. You know, I still haven't gotten a straight answer as to Jeremy Lansman's affiliation with the Alaska Educational Radio System. Certain sources mention his name and/or the address of KYES studios, while others don't. The person I spoke with at said studios claimed not to know anything. Their websites haven't been operational for as long as I've been trying. Any clues?RadioKAOS (talk) 23:53, 28 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Another thing

[edit]

The Anchorage translators in the infobox appear to correspond to channels 14, 18 and 22. I'm pretty sure that these were previous UHF licenses and/or actual stations which operated in years/decades past in Anchorage. Too close to be coincidence, IMO. Anyone reading this remember Catch 22? Frank Harlan, Lulu Small, Eddie P? Who else? Had to have been a few others who were local pseudo-celebrities back then.RadioKAOS (talk) 00:00, 29 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
