[edit]I think that it is very unlikely that the lake and the nearby pass are named after a tropical plant. The German wikipedia entry https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karerpass mentions two more plausible (but still speculative) etymologies. Ligneus (talk) 09:53, 31 December 2019 (UTC)
As of now, I see a reference to Caricaceae, a family of tropical plants with broad lobed leaves. I must agree that it's not only weird but it does not make any sense. It's as if a town on the Isle of Lewis was named after a tribe in Tuvalu. If there is no source let's take it off.

[edit]I don't think the 4 images in the gallery really need to be that big. Also, one is a painting and three are actual views of the lake. They should be in two different sections and the size should be much smaller.
