Feedback from New Page Review process[edit]

I left the following feedback for the creator/future reviewers while reviewing this article: add a ref for the population figure.

Copyedit[edit]

I performed a copyedit of this article, edits which have been spuriously reverted as "disruptive". I will address each one of my edits here to show what an outlandish statement and revert thereof it is, the article creator had added:

  • Kashmiri: کٹھل ہل پٹریبل (removed per WP:INDICSCRIPTS)
  • File:Kathal Hil Patribal Town Center.jpg (absolutely unsourced image, with a made-up caption: "Jamiat Ulama'a-e-Islam flag planted by Kashmiri militants on the village center" here on the article; and another WP:HOAX caption on the image page "Kashmiri Liberators liberate the village of Kathal Hil Patribal in Baramulla district. The flag is planted on the town center."
  • Sarpanch, Mohammad Shafi (completely unsourced)
  • "-administered" (places are listed as de-facto beyond the Level 1 administrative divisions in Kashmir, per consensus)

These were simply copyedits, with a removal of blatant WP:OR or worse WP:HOAX additions (concerns which are not unfounded). Labelling this is as disruptive appears WP:BATTLEGROUND behaviour to me. Gotitbro (talk) 23:24, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WP:INDICSCRIPTS is applicable to all WP:Wikiproject India articles, i.e. India-specific articles but not in articles whose scope is beyond Wikiproject India or not predominantly within its scope. In the latter case there should ideally be no scripts; or all local scripts included, though the former (no scripts) is preferred. INDICSCRIPTS covers all scripts (Indic and Perso-Arabic) and is wholly applicable to all WP:NCIND articles including regions administered in Kashmir per precedence. This is clearly mentioned at the guideline page, the RfCs linked therein and also at {{Indic script lede}}. Gotitbro (talk) 23:41, 17 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
