It was claimed in now-archived webpageis claimed in the hotel's current webpagehere, on April 18, 2020, that the hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. But it seems not to be now... it is not individually included in National Register of Historic Places listings in Cambridge, Massachusetts and there appears to be no larger historic district which could include it as a contributing building. Also the original firehouse was moved in the 2000-2002 renovations [which would disqualify, or weigh heavily against, NRHP listing]. Was it listed once? If so, it would likely have been listed along with River Street Firehouse which held/holds Engine 6 company of the Cambridge Fire Department, and was listed in 1982 as part of a Multiple Resource Area study for Cambridge. This one, the Engine 7 firehouse, was still open at the time. The MRA document should be available at Cambridge MRA, but is no longer. --Doncram (talk) 05:54, 18 April 2020 (UTC) Or is there some newer listing that the Cambridge NRHP list-article is missing? --Doncram (talk) 06:12, 18 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Copied from wt:NRHP, User:MB replying to my question there:
This document talks about development of the area, including a new office building on a parking lot next to the Kendall Hotel. Hardly seems that there is any historic district there. Did find lots of repetition that the hotel is on NRHP in travel sites and travel news articles. MB 16:19, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
First link is dead, at least in 2023. Willowdale Estate is a "wedding and event venue in Topsfield, Massachusetts", and maybe a connection could be mentioned in its article and here, but I see no obvious connection now. --Doncram (talk, contribs) 00:57, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Update in 2023: the MRA document is provided now by NARA, at https://catalog.archives.gov/id/63791335 (it's maybe best to click "Download" at bottom left of screen, to get the document to your computer, rather than waiting for display on NARA's awkward reader). That is an 840 page document. Searching through it I find one occurrence of "Kendall Square" and 15 or so hits on "firehouse", but the hits are about Inman Square and Taylor(?) Square firehouses, not about the Kendall Square firehouse incorporated into Kendall Hotel.
From this plus my previous attempts to find any evidence that Kendall Hotel is in an NRHP historic district, I am fairly certain that it is not. --Doncram (talk, contribs) 00:57, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
