City history?

If Kenmore was formerly its own town and was subsequently annexed into Akron, what year did this occur? Robert K S (talk) 23:14, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

im from Akron and i beilve that the annexation took place some time between 1910 and 1930. i cant rember where i live on the south side in south Akron near the border of Firestone park and my area was annexd in 1915 and this process of annexing land has not ended and theres a proposal to annex more of Northampton town ship land from Cuyahoga falls. i do know that the first part of Akron to be built was called Middlebury founded in 1822 where as Akron was founded 3 years later in 1825 middlebury was annexed in the 1870's and Akrons population was doubled to 18,000 people in 1880 .about the same time as this Buda and Pest were united in Hungary, Europe. but by 1900 Akron was still small but by 1930 its borders looked much as they do now but not including any NorthAmpton township land.so kenmore was annex some time between 1910 and 1930.

I am from Kenmore, also. I believe you are correct. They built many of the homes around Kenmore Boulevard in that time frame. Our house was built in 1914 on the south side of Kenmore Boulevard. If I'm correct, it was during the annexation that they began putting up the new homes around the Wilbeth Road (formerly Faust Street) area. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.72.22.183 (talk) 05:35, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
