Disputed place of death[edit]

I am Kenny Ireland's grandson and his place of death was not London it was Esher. Too my knowledge there are no publicly available sources on this however the given source (IMBD) is not reliable as they would have no way of knowing where he died. Thanks for your observation - you are correct, IMDB is open-sourced meaning anyone can write anything there once registered. By virtue of the same token, Wikipedia is unable to accept your confirmation of Esher. This search shows no record as such, either (just a quick look).

This edit from 30 Oct 2014 shows how it was changed to London (from Ireland) with IMDB already having been added from 1st August by a non-regular editor. With a sudden event, it's normal for these types to pile-in to try to be the first, as if it's some type of personal accolade. A dead giveaway is that a regular editor would not quote IMDB, Facebook, forums, fanzines, and if a mouse cursor is placed over the inline ref number, it appears as a raw URL (unformatted, not using Wiki-code).

As it's disputed, I can delete the place as really not that important. These are good examples of why Wikipedia itself is not regarded as a reliable source.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 09:36, 6 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
