Sequel films[edit]

Not sure if we should include this film in the category Italian sequel films. When the film was developed, it does not appear to have been made as being part of any series (Zombi, Demons, etc.) and only retro-actively released on home video as Zombi 5 or Zombie Flesheasters 4. Should we removed this cat or... Andrzejbanas (talk) 17:41, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I think it is hard to categorise because a) a definition of sequel has not been proposed, especially regarding whether there needs to be narrative coherence or whether thematic coherence is sufficient, and b) it is badly documented what the intentions of the distributors were in creating the different titles and series and in integrating Killing Birds. I would therefore vote for a more inclusive approach: accepting it as a "sequel" in the series in which it was integrated, until proven otherwise. Flickyard (talk) 21:47, 4 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Its not that big of a deal, just wasn't sure if we had an official stance on it. I'm really digging Curti's books on these Italian films though, we are finally getting some dirt on these films in English! Andrzejbanas (talk) 00:24, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, indeed! Most of the writing on these films is in Italian, and often at a fairly superficial level. Curti is awesome in that he actually goes to the Italian public archives to find out precise information about the films he covers. Flickyard (talk) 16:36, 5 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. I have always wanted to tackle these types of films as the information is so scattered and nearly unsourcable. Its great the have someone publishing this stuff straight outta Italy! I have pre-ordered his 1980s book, but Google Books already has some bits and bobs available. Going to be fun to tackle these when they come out for such a wacky period for 1980s Euro genre films.
