Hi!

Delete or merge[edit]

I support, but the merged article has to be called Kinah not Kinnot. This is because it would cover three separate subjects: Biblical lamentations (referred to by the singular Kinah); the Biblical city named Kinah; and medieval liturgical lamentations (referred to by singular Kinah or plural Kinnot). Commentaries I have seen on the Book of Lamentations seem to use the spelling 'qinah' rather than 'kinah'. And the term seems to be used with two apparently different meanings: the idea of a dirge or lament; a linguistic three-two pattern of stresses. The two spellings mean the same thing, and are just that: different spellings, nothing else. Perhaps two authors used different spellings when writing about different aspects of the kinah, and that might explain why you got the incorrect impressing they are referring to different things, but they are the same.
