[edit]

Can someone find a photograph or two for the Infobox's Image? Would be appreciated :)

Notability?

[edit]

Is this school notable enough to be on wikipedia? From what I've read, it doesnt fall under the notable guidelines in Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Neon (Talk) 12:34, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have cleaned up this article, added references, and also a notable former pupil which I believe means the rticle now meet notability guidelines. Bleaney (talk) 15:27, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Bleaney:, this article still does not follow WP:GNG and the edit you added only adds a notable former pupil, which following WP:ORG "An organization is not notable merely because a notable person or event was associated with it", still means it is not notable. The school is already mentioned at Kirkby#Secondary Schools so redirecting there would be OK and wouldn't promote it. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:32, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed, I was mainly thinking that someone would end up putting information about the school there which the other secondary school in Kirkby doesn't have in that article. Neon (Talk) 00:19, 22 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have responded on the deletion page. There are three reports from Ofsted, two or more full articles in the Liverpool Echo, and a delightful feature article in the Guardian which discusses Ruffwood School a predecessor school. knowsley-education-catastrophe The Guardian Which makes an excellent grisly Christmas read. Instead of just saying "oh this will be an easy article to write", you can clearly see its been a stub for years, how about you add to it or tell others what to add instead of bragging how there is so much to add. Neon (Talk) — Preceding undated comment added 22:58, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Neon Richards: The point of a Notability discussion is to establish whether the source material exists- which is what we are doing- no more no less. There is a guidelines page WP:WPSCH/AG which will give you suggestions on how to start. But there is so much material here it is very tempting. All Ofsted Reports are published under a OGL so we can use them quite freely.
