Kolhar as taluka

[edit]

An IP editor 103.10.248.182 and Shreeshail mathapati indicated that Kolhar was declared as a taluka in 2013. However, as of 19 April 2013, it was not so listed in the electronic National Panchayat Directory nor at the Bijapur district website. I searched the Times of India, but did not find any mention of such a change. Where it is mentioned in the article, I have requested a citation. --Bejnar (talk) 04:57, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I did find mention of proposed new talukas in 2013, including Kolhar: "Karnataka budget: Shettar announces creation of 43 new taluks". The Deccan Herald. 8 February 2013. Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, who is also in-charge of Finance Department, presenting the 2013-14 budget proposals said "based on reports submitted to the government in the recent years, demand from public and due to geographical factors, it is proposed to create 43 new taluks". --Bejnar (talk) 21:51, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
