Analysis and problem identification

[edit]

Revision Tipps Margritly/Kulturzentrum Reitschule: It would be good if you change the name of Reitschule and Reithalle in the Text or with a short definition/explanation. Muncipality? What about just town? English should be more paraphrased. Try one paragraph to split in 2-3. Squatting, probably better Occupation of the house? In order to express the lack….. Better Lack of cultural….. Is the example with the dampfzentrale important to mention it without to explain it? --Dibrable (talk) 15:50, 10 December 2021 (UTC)dibrable[reply]

1. links to other Wikipedia entries: There are linked Wikipedia articles in the german Reitschule article that are only in the German language. Whether I simply translate the article "autonomous youth centres" literally or whether I look for an alternative article in the English language, I will gradually find out.

You should look for parallel texts (e.g. the Wikipedia article about the Dynamo centre in Zurich) and information about the Reitschule in English to help you find good solutions instead of simply trying to translate literally (e.g. combine "reitschule" with English words like "cultural" in a browser search engine). 2. target audience: The English-speaking target audience is unlikely to know what the Zaffaraya is. However, the eviction of it is relevant to the history of Reitschule. The question here is whether the zaffaraya should be explained briefly, or whether I should simply assume that the readers of this article know what zaffaraya means anyway.

A brief explanation of this and other specific cultural terms would be appropriate for the English target audience. Chasa73a (talk) 18:12, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

3. proper names: Because I have a much better command of the German language, capitalizing and recognizing "proper names" is difficult. Are left-wing extremist and communist also capitalized in English or not?

Refer to the conventions in English Wikipedia articles for guidance on problems like this. Chasa73a (talk) 18:12, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

4. categories: Which categories can I use and which not? Many of the categories in the German Reitschule article do not exist in English. Example: Hausbesetzung (Schweiz) -should I now take the English article "Squatting", or just leave it alone? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Margritly (talkcontribs) 10:44, 22 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the categories for the English article "Squatting" will provide you with some guidance on this. Chasa73a (talk) 18:12, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

5. Translation problem: Strafbar. I was not sure how to handle the word strafbar. So I put in the explanation in brackets.--Margritly (talk) 15:15, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
