Probable link to schizophrenia
[edit]- Link found between TBE and schizophrenia and "The kynurenic acid hypothesis of schizophrenia" (PMID 17573079). Will try to read and investigate later. Cheers, CopperKettle 09:59, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Kynurenic acid is also known to inhibit AMPA and kainate receptors (http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/search/ProductDetail/SIGMA/K3375) bill (talk) 17:27, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
Is it possible to specify this: "Conversely, increased levels of kynurenic acid have also been linked to certain pathological conditions." High levels in blood? Liquor? According to the article in physiol beh (The kynurenic acid hypothesis of schizophrenia.) it is liquor, but the other ones? --Vibackup (talk) 12:37, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
