Meaning of "Jäger"

[edit]

"Jäger" in the German military equals more to "Rangers" or the light components of an linie-regiement. Its focus is less on sniping, but more on hit and run tactics and combat in "closed" oder "covered" areas (e. g. woods, and urban). --62.143.245.76 (talk) 15:06, 14 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Clarity

[edit]

The article repeatedly says that they saw little military success but also says they fought with "great gallantry," "superior activity," and were a "constant annoyance" to the French. I think some addition sources or more explanation is needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FCC8:E987:4B00:DF2:C92B:5D9F:4B30 (talk) 04:11, 16 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
