The genre of the song is NOT Thrash metal!

[edit]

As many of you for long has been editing the genre of Laid to Rest to Thrash metal, I just want to declare that the song is NOT of this genre! Thrash metal is based on significantly faster and more aggressive tunes, and the song is definitely of more heavier and melodic tunes - So please, do not use the term "Thrash metal" for this song. A Powerful Weakness i agree, also this IS NOT GROOVE METAL. this sounds almost nothing like groove metal, its, if anything, a blend of death metal, and mostly metalcore the genre definutly should be metalcore or a more neutral extreme metal —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.88.135 (talk) 01:53, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Does anybody find it weird that some thrash fans will say that the Lamb of God riffs arent thrash, and then go on to say that Lamb of God steal riffs from Testament and Megadeth (bands who are unquestionably thrash)? Listen to Testaments "Into the Pit" - definately thrash, but that opening riff is very similar to the opening riff of Laid to Rest. Also I dont think Thrash requires to be faster or more aggressive. I mean some tracks from Ride the Lightning are pretty slow (at times)- I think Fade to Black is a good example, Its definately Thrash Metal, but it doesnt sound much like it should be in the same genre as a song like Angel of Death, yet it is. I wouldnt classify this song as Thrash Metal but my point is that you cant analyse music like a forensic science. But whatever, I say classify it as Metal and be done with it, to quote this songs chorus - "SEE WHO GIVES A FUCK"118.208.129.100 (talk) 14:52, 27 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would classify Fade To Black Alternative Metal or just Heavy Metal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.238.23.205 (talk) 18:01, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
