"Norwegian Lapland"

[edit]

"Norwegian Lapland" is a concept invented in tourism marketing. The area is called Finnmark (a county) or more vaguely Sápmi (land of Sami people). In middle ages the Norwegian part of Sápmi was called Finnmork. — Erik Jr. 12:48, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Source: https://snl.no/Finnm%C7%ABrk Finnmǫrk is the Old Norse (Norwegian spoken in the middle ages) name for the area dominated by Sami people. There is not and has never been a Norwegian "Lapland". --— Erik Jr. 12:00, 5 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
