Daily Life of Leah Namugerwa[edit]

Leah Namugerwa is a fourteen year old climate activist and student striker who participates in "Fridays for the Future." People of Uganda have been striking every Friday for greater action to fight climate change, plastic pollution, and more since February of 2019.

Leah's Fridays have greatly changed since she started participating in this movement. She says it is one of the busiest days of the week for her. She wakes up, takes her place on the side of the road or where she feels is best to communicate the message of climate change. When she gets tired of standing she sits but still encourages people to read her sign.
