The articles about Left-Wing, Communist, Right-Wing and Islam, etc. are named "terrorism" while for Zionist "political violence" is used. All describe terrorist attacks as defined as in the Wikipedia article about terrorism ("Terrorism is, in the broadest sense, the use of intentionally indiscriminate violence as a means to create terror among masses of people; or fear to achieve a religious or political aim. , see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism).
We either have to change all to terrorism or all to political violence, everything else would not be neutral.
We go by what sources use. Generally they reserve the term terrorism to refer to actions by non-state actors even when they carry out similar actions for similar aims. There are of course a minority of scholars who see no distinction. TFD (talk) 02:01, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with 170.247.81.214 here, why does this article even exist? Terrorism of any form committed by anyone should be viewed the same. There is no article for every ideology, and why should there be? There are so many nuances within each ideology that it would be oversimplification for propaganda purposes to take random actions by groups that consider themselves or are considered by someone else to be communist, and dump them in one article. There is a difference between political violence and terrorism on a very large scale, and this article of very clearly about the use the use of terrorism. There is also a difference between mass murder/crimes against humanity and terrorism as well. Marxist-Leninist regimes, and all of its derivatives, have never even tried to mask the fact that they are in favor of the use of terrorism in order to achieve their goals. Post like these come across as communist apologist trying to find excuses to censor this gory history from people. Friedbyrd (talk) 22:16, 6 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think there is no question at all, that Hitler used the Reichstagsfire for his aims, to arrest communists, etc. I am not sure that sources for this are needed. There must be thousands of books on Hitler and 1933. Which one would you want to use as a source - The 2 given sources, Conway or Gadberry, look a bit non-essential, but are they incorrect? Judging from the title, Conway does look OK(?)--Ralfdetlef (talk) 16:00, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Spain saw the mass murder of POUM members and of anarchists, in the Spanish Civil War; Argentinia in the early 1970s the terrorism of left-wing Peronist groups (Montoneros).
In the USA, the Weather Underground did kill some people, as did the Black Panthers, including George Jackson and his brother, and its follow-up organizations (Assunta)--Ralfdetlef (talk) 20:01, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
