Hi, 89.241.175.151--
What is the point of disputing a quote? The article itself seems verifiable to me. What is to dispute?
Carnykon 01:23, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
:I'm not disputing the quote, merely asking a question. The dispute is the claims made earlier that are unverified. 89.241.175.151 (talk) 00:31, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
::And if they are verifiable - and I mean in accordance with WP:V - then why isn't someone verifying them? 89.241.175.151 (talk) 00:32, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
:::There are claims in the article are indeed verifiable and their sources are cited. So kindly desist from removing them. As to the dispute issue. I see no problem with leaving NPOV for now.

::::I see a serious problem with the claimed references. They do not meet WP's minimum standard. 89.241.175.151 (talk) 00:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
::::::I think the citation 1 does indeed meet WP's mimum standard. Kindly stop vandalizing this entry.

Mostly autobiographical, unverified
Mostly autobiographical, unverified. User:Liteditor identifies himself as Leo Yankevich, as evidenced on the licensing and uploading here and has created the largest part of the article. Two assertions are made about the article subject's activities as a dissident in Poland, and the only verification offered is a link to an autobiographical webpage.
::89.241.175.151, the person who is vandalizing this entry, is possibly an admin from Conservapedia, most likely: http://www.conservapedia.com/User:Fox As everyone here knows, people from Conservapedia have their own criteria and see things with their own special lights. http://www.google.com/search?q=Leo+Yankevich+anti-communist&hl=en —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.4.219.132 (talk) 03:25, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
:::Please read WP:SOCK; and stop making accusations just to distract from the deep intellectual dishonesty that is the hallmark of this article. Furthermore, asking for verification is not vandalism.RedNsign (talk) 08:24, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
::::The search link above merely points to almost verbatim repetitions of the WP article. NPOV

"One of the leading poets ..." seems strongly POV given that books.google turns up zero matches. — Stumps 16:46, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Googles shows this:

Leo Yankevich: The Last Silesian Gnoza 15 Feb 2006

I'm concerned that the majority of this article appears to have been written by Mr Yankevich himself. WP:AUTO and WP:V are definitely recommended reading, Liteditor! 89.241.175.151 (talk) 23:30, 23 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Verification of Autobiographical Sources

Hi RedNsign,

I've rewritten the latter half of the article, stating what Yankevich describes in his autobiographical essay at the The Chimaera. I have provided a link and a citation.

I might add that http://www.the-chimaera.com/ is a well-respected literary publication. I have also noticed that Yankevich's bio can be found in the December 2004, July 2005, and November 2006 issues of Chronicles, and that it predates most of the contributions to this article. Chronicles is the leading paleo-conservative publication in the USA, and a major publication. It is opposed to the war in Iraq. Biographical info on Yankevich can also be found in the December 22 edition of the Pittsburgh Poet-Gazette (Section B, Page 8). The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is western PA's leading newspaper.

Thank you for your contribution . Czarnykon (talk) 11:43, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Given the above, and the rewrite, then I'm satisfied that the article has moved forward a little. Reliable third-party verification would be better, but I will assume that given the circumstances in Poland at the time, that is unlikely to exist. I will also Assume Good Faith :) Mr Yankevich/Liteditor should really take on board that editing one's own article is never a good idea, however. RedNsign (talk) 12:39, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So can the RfC tag be removed now? Pairadox (talk) 12:28, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite of Article

I have rewritten the article (not really hard to do). Please help to expand it.

Why have huge sections of this talk page been deleted?

I shall attempt to undo the memory-holing that has taken place here... 89.241.224.125 (talk) 14:14, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
