Is it really necessary to use the Dutch word? Surely a translation to English would be appropriate, party list leaders are not unique to The Netherlands after all. 92.238.109.148 (talk) 13:18, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List puller?[edit]

Perhaps the reason why this term is used would be a good addition to this article? I speak dutch but am not certain about this though. I always assumed that the 'list puller' is called this way because she/he pulls the list of candidates up in the results through his/her popularity. The 'list pusher', usually the person who is expected to just get enough votes to secure a seat in parliament, is also in this position for the same respective reason, they 'push' from the other end with their own popularity.
