Wikipedia's page on Nicole McCloud quoted in the media
[edit]In the last few days, the media is hotly debating whether Nicole McCloud's appearance in the American edition of The X Factor was wise or fair, particularly as almost none of her past chart success was brought up in the program. Many of the ensuing discussions quote directly or indirectly content, from our page on her. The issue is whether it is fair for talent shows like X Factor to include artists with important chart success (both in US charts and internationally). Although we don't take sides in the developing debate either way, we can't help but notice the relevance of a project like Wikipedia that can, through its cumulative archiving of information, collaborative editing of thousands of its voluntary editors, and the timely updates on its pages are becoming a relevant source for information. Traffic on the page has also built up considerably. See [1] werldwayd (talk) 04:05, 8 October 2013 (UTC)

The result of the proposal was moved. --BDD (talk) 00:25, 29 December 2013 (UTC)
Nicole McCloud → Lillie McCloud – The name "Nicole McCloud" no longer accurately reflects the identity of Lillie Arlene Nicole Jade McCloud as "Lillie McCloud" is both her binomial birth name and her current stage name. This relates to the Wikipedia naming convention pertaining to commonly recognisable names. Due to her popularisation on The X Factor and her change in stage name associated with it, she is now arguably most recognisably known as "Lillie McCloud". I am requesting this move on this basis. - Agree If it was solely on X factor, I would have had some second thoughts. But since this is her birth name as well, I agree for the move. werldwayd (talk) 17:51, 14 December 2013 (UTC)
