Removed paragraph

[edit]

I have removed the following paragraph from the article on BLP grounds until a citation is provided:

  • In 1999 monkeys crushed the arm of a young visitor. A few week later, other monkeys bit off a girl's finger. Similar accidents had happened in 1995. Marcel Wouters was sent to court for "unintentional harm" and "lack of precaution". He received a fine and one year suspended imprisonment. Yngvadottir (talk) 16:56, 14 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The reference is in this Dutch article [1]. However, paragraph above contains errors. Both accidents happened in 1992. The lawsuit was in 1995. There were no known similar accidents, so the correct explanation is:

  • In 1992 monkeys crushed the arm of a young visitor. A few week later, other monkeys bit off three fingers of a girl. In 1995 Marcel Wouters was sent to court for "unintentional harm" and "lack of precaution" because of these accidents. He received a fine and one year suspended imprisonment. ~

@Ino mart: OK, I have reinstated the paragraph in that modified form, and also used that reference in 3 places towards the end. I don't find the exact date of closure in that article, though, so I have left the "citation needed" in place there. I had earlier tried to find citations on that history page but the URL would not open for me, and when I tried to go to the Main Page, I was looking at only the first part of it (?). It would be good if you would make separate references to the other parts and use them where possible to cite unreferenced material. Also, are any of the news stories online? I would have checked them but they also have no URLs on Dutch Wikipedia. We need to have references for stuff about people being sentenced for crimes, even though I see from the source that Wouters died soon after.
@Yngvadottir: I added some more references including some videos. The news stories are online at http://125.hbvlonline.be//HBVLWebSearcher/loginv.do, but you can only access them in case you have a paid subscription.
The article is clearly based on the Dutch one, so I have added the translation template at the top of this page for attribution. Thanks for giving us the article, but please in future create the talk page with this template when you translate an article from another Wikipedia; it's required for making apparent who contributed what to the original version of the article.
